Blankets

Good morning
First post of the day

I knitted this blanket from Two 100gram balls and odd bits of wool and it is going to a dementia ward.

My first attempt at crocheting  the border after watching a YouTube video

It is plain knitting stitch each row (garter stitch)

Cast on one stitch at the end of each row. Slip stich the first stitch of every row until you reach 40 stiches

On the next row first decrease row I have

K2 Tog K1 Kt Tog wrap the wool around the needle K 2 together to the end of the row.

Then decrease a stitch at the end of every row until you only have two stitches knit two together the edging is knitted and from a baby blanket pattern.  On each corner I have added Double organza ribbon bow using Attic Bow Maker

These tiny squares are for a baby unit they give one to mum to put in her Bra and when goes into with the baby. They swap them so baby can smell mum and mum has the smell of her baby.

I love that you do this for people Ginny, its so typical of your generous heart. They are beautiful. Nice to offer up the pattern too, although I am no knitter, I crochet but never did get the hang of knitting.xx

Your lovely knitted blankets will bring warmth and comfort to someone, well done on mastering the crochet edge. The little squares for mum and baby are such a lovely idea. You have a very kind heart Ginny.
